a little local press…

I have to say … I love living in St Kilda! Even though it is quite a large suburb, has an incredibly diverse and eclectic population, it has such a wonderful sense of community.

A few weeks ago, Holly McKay from the local suburban newspaper “The Leader” contacted me, to say she really wanted to run a story on our brand.

Which is how I found myself, dragging my rack through the streets of St Kilda, to have my photo taken outside the iconic Luna Park.

Luna Park! With my range of clothes – Bamboo Monkey! Amazing because, if I rewind back in time, I was actually living in New York, and living in St Kilda was a long way off.

There I was with a 3 month old and a 20 month old, living on the other side of the world from my family and friends, following my dream, studying product development at FIT, the Fashion Institute of Technology. We were living on the 16th floor of an apartment building on the upper East side. I would explain to my son, often going a little stir-crazy with no back yard to run off steam, that when we moved home, there would actually be a fun fair at the end of our street.

His eyes would widen in awe – a fun fair??? To a toddler, living on the 16th floor, that was just a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow,  that was clearly unimaginable at the time.

And that is just how I felt, standing there having my picture taken – with this amazing product, in front of Luna Park in St Kilda, my hometown, and I was in awe!

Dreams – sometimes they blow your mind 🙂
